We went to the zoo, zoo, zoo!

What a fantastic day!

Photos and details will hopefully follow later – no problem but it takes a bit of doing and we need to get our party gear on!  We´ll slope off during the dancing and get them sorted!!

Yesterday we asked the children what their ´highlights so far´were- we didn´t get chance to post them as we had that problem so here they are!

Paul and Patrick have really enjoyed all the football… (They were also extremely impressed with the birds of prey show today)

Andrew loved getting a shark´s tooth (?!)

Emily is enjoying the shopping… and saw a flying fairy..?!

Beth has loved the fountains and palaces.

Daniel and Molly both enjoyed the fabulous view of the little people from the cable car they went on with their families.. that sounds high!

Abbie went on a great swing that spun her round and round – she got dizzy telling me!

Jenny liked meeting a funny little girl called Melinda.. she was very funny apparantly!

Nicole enjoyed having dinner with the teachers and some karaoke… Unfortunately she liked Maria´s singing the best so Mr Hewer is a little sad.

Amy´s best bit is a surprise for her family, but her 2nd favourite was the porcelain room in the palace.

Callum has enjoyed seeing the host family again, and loved the armour room.

Nathan and Alex Derby also thought the armour room at the palace was just amazing.

Jasmine has enjoyed everything, but is especially looking forward to the Grease party tonight!

Alex Davies enjoyed filming Mr Hewer on the karoake…  Whoops did Mr Hewer know that??

Red loved his free day with the family and has made lots of new memories, particularly from what he saw from the cable car.

Kate enjoyed the bus tour of Madrid as she saw lots of new things.

Sophie enjoyed the go karting with her family – and thought it was hilarious that she went the wrong way and was told off in Spanish, but she couldn´t answer so the man had to move her!

Darcey also enjoyed the go karting… particularly when she crashed!!

Jason won the go karts so that was his best bit!

Mrs Davies has enjoyed the food and the company (and is proud of her tan!), Mrs Shotton is enjoying the sun and the fresh orange juice, Mrs. Brooks enjoyed Retiro park and her Sunday lie-in, and Mr Hewer has so many best bits he just can´t pick one!!

I think that´s everyone!

More to follow later, and no, we didn´t leave anyone at the zoo… Though we weren´t completely surprised to discover that chimpanzees are 99% the same genetically as humans…!

We´re all off to the zoo today…

Thank you for all the lovely comments we are doing our best to remember them and pass them on.  The children are always delighted that you have been in touch via the blog!

Most of the children seem to be able to see the site from their host´s  house, but we will check again today.

Just a little warning – for some reason yesterday we had no access to the blog for some time hence were later getting pictures on – Mr. Rafferty got out of his sick bed to sort it out for us, but just in case this happens again this is why we may have nothing on the site!  Fingers crossed it will keep working ok today.

Back later!

On Tuesday Liverpool Football Club are not playing King Luis Garcia’s team, Athletico Madrid, but the other team Madrid.

Following the first leg, Liverpool have a one goal lead so the match at the cauldron called Anfield will be a close game. Where will you be watching it?

Check out those blue skies…   The coats soon came off!

The white carrier bags are the delicious lunches provided by San Ildefonso.

As you can see, Emily and Beth were really enjoying Mr. Hewer´s educational chat in the art gallery!

We´ll get a few action shots in the PE lesson tomorrow…

Keep those comments coming, it´s so lovely to hear from you all and the children will really like to hear what we pass on to them tomorrow.

Until tomorrow… Hasta mañana!

Evening all!

I´ve just had another go at putting photos on…  As you can see it was unsuccessful!

However I have an idea about how to  sort it out so as the children are busy with their families tomorrow I will have a play with it and get some more on.  We have taken some great ones! (Which you will get to see!!)

Just a few more notes from the week..

We had some great dancing on posts today by Abbie and Molly, our Deyes children were really wowed by the palace and have been looking after the little ones really well, Jenny and Patrick have been lovely to eachother and Patrick has been really generous!  Andrew is a fab bubble blower…  Paul and Alex have brushed their teeth…  Callum and Alex have been taking some very interesting photos.. and videos…  Nathan, Jason and Red have been getting right into the language and practising their pronunciation, Sophie, Kate and Darcey have loved watching their favourite TV characters speak in another language, Alex has spent every moment with his mum (erm, actually no he hasn´t!!)  Nicole and Amy have soaked up the culture and the sun, Jasmine, Patrick, Callum and Nathan had a sing to the public, Red has been conker collecting, Molly hasn´t stopped smiling (must have been that lovely pizza), Beth was really bad at bowling and Abbie won…or was that the other way round…  Jason couldn´t stop buying postcards, and we all seem to have developed a fascination with sticks…  our Evertonians have had lots of praise from Mr Hewer about their choice of team… (oh, or maybe not..) and we developed a rather unusual method of using a slide today!!  (It was very safe, I assure you!)

Goodness me, what an eventful week!  I will have to ask the children to remind me what to put on the blog as each day Mrs. Brooks, Mr Hewer, Mrs Davies and I say ´we´ll have to mention that…´  Better get out our notepads!

Well please keep those comments coming, it´s lovely to see how many people are looking at the site each day and making comments which we are passing on to the children who don´t have access to them, even without the bonus of photos!

Goodnight for now from Madrid!
