Liverpool v Athletico Madrid

If only this match was being played in our school holidays because Mr Rafferty would have had to have sneaked away to watch The World’s Greatest Football Team play in Madrid!!

Best wishes to Luis Garcia (a true LFC hero) and Florent Sinama Pongolle. We hope they play well but not too well!

TIFWAS Today is Friday Watch and Smile

Uncategorized 2 Comments »

In memory of the brillliant TISWAS telelvision programme (and becasue I wont be looking at my computer on Saturday) I have decided to rename today’s activities TIFWAS. The children have been in school all day today and through the brilliant work of Miss Hartley we have linked, Maghull with Madrid with Seravella (Barcelona).

Seravella is the place where our first spanish teacher, Carme Sentis (and her husband Albert- who knows more about the city of Barcelona than anyone) now teach. We still stay in touch and it is great to maintain these kind of links.

Tonight we had a BBQ. Very unusually in England ….it did not rain. Everyone had a lovely time. All the families turned up and the children had a great time. Mr Rusling was brilliant on the decks, Mr Davies demonstated his culinary skillls, Miss Newham has a new career as a bingo caller lined up (and a seller of surplus stock), Mrs Cassidy her dancing skills, Mr Hewer his singing skills and Miss Hartley her being very organised looking after everyone skills.

We had a great time today

Uncategorized No Comments »

We started today by going Liverpool on a double decker bus. The children loved being on the top deck and being able to see everything as they went on their journey.

We all had a great time on the Liverpool Duck, spending our money on souveneirs, walking along the river front and seeing the Merseyside Maritime Museum. None of the children got lost but we did have to look for Maria and Emilia a few times!

On the way home there were some very tired children!

Safe arrival

Everyone arrived safely at Green Park School in Maghull tonight. The sun was still shining, just, and once all the children met their friends, had a drink and a snack they went home for their first night in England.
